You vs. Them, On the Fly
Under PHRF time-on-time handicapping, calculating actual corrected times is a
complicated process, but you don't have to make the formal calculations to estimate
how you did in a race.
Estimate finish place
It's easy to estimate your finish place relative to other boats with a simple
time converter. Look up your finish time, then add or subtract the time
correction from the converter to find other boats' "break even" times.
(A boat's "break even" time is the raw finish time at which she ties
you in corrected time.) For a more detailed description of how to work with the

Create custom converter
Create a custom converter for your boat vs. the rest of the fleet. The
work is already done for the GMSC keelboat fleets. A separate generic form
that allows you to customize the converter completely for any fleet with whatever
PHRF ratings follows the GMSC fleets below. Note that the converter is set up for
a specific boat; each boat needs its own converter.
The converter will open in a new window. You can print that window, or copy its
contents and paste into a spreadsheet or a word processor to format it to your taste.

To create a converter for a fleet with any boats and any ratings, select the
number of boats in the fleet and click Go To Custom Form.
